The end of the semester is finally here, which also means the end of my blogs for this semester.. lol

So, this is the time for sickness and especially the H1N1 virus. I cant remember if I wrote about the shot IWCC is giving on Wednesday, but I am going to get it. Its free to IWCC students and I think its a good thing they are doing.

The picture on the left was taken today and the picture on the right was taken yesterday. So, there is a cherry tree right outside my house and I think that is why these birds are all around my front door and such. Both of these pictures were taken at my house.

So, I absolutely love the snow. I hate that its just so darn cold, but it is so pretty. So Sunday night, when the first night of snow was here, I made a run to the gas station around 6 pm, and took pictures of my car tires in the fresh snow and my foot prints and my name.. I like writing things in the snow. Makes me feel like a little kid still lol. Sooo, I wrote my name lol.

I’m doing my own funny little experiment with my car this winter. I am going to see how dirty my car will get this whole winter. I am not going to give my car a car wash until Spring. And these pictures were taken earlier today and this is only the second snow of the season!! lol.

The weekend is here and I’m a little bit late on writing this blog… err later than I would have liked to be. Friday…3:55 p.m. My weekend has officially started. It consists of watching Meet the Robinson’s and wait for my boyfriend to get here. And OH! Moving my car so my mom can fit hers lol.

This weekend is a very laid-back weekend so that I can have time for my finals. I have one take home final and one more I need to study for. That is what this weekend is going to be dedicated to. Hopefully I don’t get distracted by…Facebook

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
As this semester is coming to an end, I’m looking back to what I have learned. I came into Iowa Western as freshman, barely stepping foot into what real college life is all about. Before school started this year, I was nervous of course. All of the kids were new to me and I was new to them. But now, I have made a few friends in college, found some kids that I graduated high school with last year and I am finally beginning to find my place in college.

Looking Forward
As I look behind me and see what I learned, I realize there are also things I want to learn in the future. Most of these are just that I want to learn more about myself. And that’s why I’m in college-just kidding. But that’s a plus.

Thanksgiving
A time for giving and being thankful for all that you have. Well, I’m thankful this year for my family and friends. My family got together like we do every year for Thanksgiving. Every year my sister and I spend the day before Thanksgiving with my grandmother helping her make the pies mostly. Then the day of Thanksgiving, we go and help with whatever things she needs help with next. Then my younger cousins play and wrestle while my grandma and aunts and mother gather together to talk about Café World or Farm Town on Facebook. Lol. While Grandpa and the uncles watch football. Lol. 

Black Friday
I usually go shopping with my mother on Friday, but this year I went with my aunts. That was so much fun. They are total goofs. But it reminds me a lot of my mother and grandma with makes sense since they related lol. We hit Walmart, Target, and Menards. I basically went along for the ride. I had a total of $9 and that wasn’t going to get me nowhere no matter how good the deals were lol.

Christmas is on its way.
Of course, since today was the day after Thanksgiving we are starting to hear christmas music playing on the radio. My favorite christmas song is Last Christmas. It’s a really great song. Lol. But now that christmas is on its way, it means people will be shopping and spending money and being with the family. Yesterday was freezing and today its actually pretty nice WTF?!

Anyway,
I procrastinated this week with a blog because Im kind of lost on what to say.
So im just going to ramble on with things happening to me until I figure out what Im going to say lol.
More than likely, this is going to be a blog of random things. Which is good sometimes. Itll give you something to think about then besides the hot boy next door lol.
The game I really like to play is Typer Shark.
I first played that in middle school when I was learning how to type.
And I have played it ever since.

Need some excuses to get out of trouble in class..
In high school we used the usual my dog ate my homework and such.
But we are mature now, We are college kids.
We need NEW excuses…

1. I made my homework in to a paper plane and it was high jacked.
2. My dog ate my homework, then my science project ate my dog.
3. I was walking to class when a baby jumped my leg and crawled up my body and sucked my homework right out of my bag. I think it was a mutated baby.
4. My mother ate my homework. She is pregnant and having very odd cravings.

Dont fall asleep after you made your sister mad, or anybody for that matter,…it could end up like this.

It’s going to start getting cold and yucky weather…WHY??? *pleads to sky*

Since I can’t go outside, I have an excuse to play the best video game in the whole wide world-SIMS!
With my rebate from Financial Aid, I bought the Sims 3.
Any Sims fan should own it.
I love making crazy Sims and making them do crazy things.
Here are some pictures of my newest creation on Sims.
I literally JUST made them earlier today.
I make like new Sim families every day…at least every other day.
I get bored with the family I made then go to make another family.
I loove the outfit I designed for this girl though.

On Sunday I also went to the Jocelyn Art Museum for my research paper I have to do for Art Appreciation. That sounds like a boring class, but really its quite interesting. If you take the class, try to take it with Norma Coret. She’s an amazing teacher. I love how she shows us pictures of when she went to these art monuments that we have to study. She can tell us more than what a book can. And I loove that.

This is my sister on the staircase at the entrance. I think the building itself can be its own art. But whats inside of the building is really interesting to.

This is a waterfall in the Sculpture Garden. My sister took this picture with her phone so I think that might be part of the reason its a different size than mine lol. But then I took mine with my phone to, so I dont know but it dont matter lol.

Halloween has finally come muahahahaha!!
My absolute favorite time of year!
The ghost stories, the “scary” kids, the parties, what could be better?

Okay, so you may think I am one to go Trick-or-Treating, but I would rather do other things that I am willing to share with you =)

Number One! I might drag my thrill-seeking friends along to the cemetary. I mean, how great can that be. Midnight with all the eerie feelings. And stop by the Black Angel right next to the cemetary. I mean the angel is creepy any other day of the year, so its gotta be super crazy on Halloween. Plus, in the cemetary towards the bottom of the hill where they used to bury the poor people. They were so poor they could afford headstones so they just kind of buried them. There are a few headstones but they are scattered around the tiny area. I can’t remember exactly what this part of the field was called. But this area just has to have some angry spirits waiting to scare some of the living. oooo!

Number Two! The Dodge House. I definely believe this place is haunted. Go to www.doyouseedeadpeople.org and it shows all the pictures of this place. Plus tons other of the investigations PRISM (Paranormal Reaserachers) have done around the metro and the whole United States.

Check out these pictures that PRISM took of the Dodge House. They are real. And according to the website, the top picture is the original picture. The white light on the left is not able to be explained. And if you look on the roof you can see the aspiration of a person. The second picture here to the right is a close up of the roof. Its kind of hard to see the aspiration. So I also added a picture below to the left circling the apparation they mention.  You really should look at these pictures on the website. I think they are easier to tell on the site, but this will work for now. I circled in white what is supposed to be the apparation. And on the website there are several other pictures and videos and audio clips of their investigation.

Number Three! Okay, since I can’t not talk about the Squirrel Cage Jail when I’m talking about spooky places. There is one part of the investigation PRISM did that literally scared the bejebus (or however you spell it) out of me!
And again, check out the site for even more scary pictures, videos, and audio clips. So the picture on the left here is the outside of the jail. The the picture directly under that is the top window (where one the jailers died from a heart attack) there is a strange glare. Then in the other picture is an even closer up picture which you can see the outline of a face towards the top of the window a lil bit. Nobody was in the jail at this time it was taken during the off season of the jail. This creeps me out. lol.

So, by now I’m sure you are either laughing at me for believing this, you are scared just as much as I am but still intruiged and texting all your friends to hang out around here on Halloween, or trying to hurry up to read this blog so you can go check out the website lol.

Well, hello fans! Or just readers of my blog J . Last week as I recall I mentioned some kind of special surprise for this week. Well, while preparing this surprise I did come into some problems. I lost quite a few of my pictures because I had to get my phone replaced and that is where I had all my pictures I took, and being the ditzy girl I am, I forgot to make sure they saved to my memory card lol. But I’m going to improvise. The basic idea of the “surprise” is a mini virtual tour of Council Bluffs. But then I thought that I wanted to add some things that other people might not add. Since our wonderful boss, Ashley, gave us this challenge at the beginning of the month. She challenged us to make a virtual tour of Council Bluffs and I decided to do it, but take a mini twist of my own. I’m going to take you through a basic day of my life, a typical college student

9:00 am:Wake up! Normally, I like to sleep until 11:30 (which is what I slept to over fall break). And I doubt I’m the only college student who values their bonding time with their pillow. These aren’t my pillows, but who wouldn’t love a pillow in the shape of an Ipod!

9:15 am:Get out of bed! Lol. Well, sometimes it’s true. Other times I’m out of bed because Facebook loves to text me around this time with my friends’ new status updates.

9:30 am:Hop into the beautiful, yet messy, white car, slip in the best CD ever (depends on the day what one that is), and drive through my muddy yard to get on the road. I love to feel my car sink in the mud and then as I drive I can hear the mud going everywhere on my car, haha!

10:00 am:Arrive to the school about ten minutes earlier and the I like to jack around finishing the good song on the radio, and waste time before I absolutely have to go to class.

Right after class:Go to work! This is where I also do my homework. I think every college kid should have a job where its very laid-back. Not only are you making money, but you can slip in some times for homework and studying.

Right after work: Go to my old high school and pick up my sister. This is usually when all my fun errands start.

My errands vary from day to day. But my favorites are…

• Oil Change! I love getting an oil change on my car because the last one I got only cost this poor college kid $17 because I got a coupon from Firestone for going there before. Plus the smell of the tires is kind of good. In a weird sort of way.
• Get Gas!I like getting gas in my car for one reason; I can drive my car longer. J
• Visit Grandma’s House!
• Go Home!Catching up on my favorite TV shows is a must. Eastwick, Lost, Desperate Housewives, Flash Forward…all amazing shows that I love.
• Chill With My Friends!
• Midnight-ish! Go to bed! My pillow and head reunite once again J

I don’t think this is what you had in mind, but I think it’s kind of interesting.

So, obviously Halloween is right around the corner. And I don’t know about you guys, but I LOVE Halloween! The candy, the freaked out little kids, the wierd looking adults…etc. What can make it any better? These pictures are of my house. My mom goes all crazy for Halloween. The funny thing is that my 15 year old sister has to hide all the Halloween decorations from my mom and me! My sister told us that we can’t start decorating until October 1st. Darn her anyway. So, I thought it would be kind of interesting to see what kind of crazy/demented things are in my mother’s head =]. She names most of her Halloween decorations. The “woman/man” (I dont know if it’s a girl or boy) that is in the tree is named Cecile. My mom made Cecile out of my sisters old clothes and a milk jug for her head. And then my mom also likes her ghosts on her railings. They are a new addition this year =].

So, the day before Halloween might get kind of boring, huh? You know, with all the excitement of handing out candy the next night and getting all the candy the next night. What in the world are you supposed to do Halloween Eve? Well, the people of Council Bluffs/Omaha. I got the perfect solution for you. Come visit me at the Squirrel Cage Jail between 6 and 8 pm on October 30th. Bring a friend and $5 dollars per person and go through the jail on a “spooky” tour. It’s fun…and spooky. =D. The jail, if you dont know is at 226 Pearl Street. Right by the courthouse..Here’s a snazzy picture of the jail that I took, just so you know what the right building is hehehe. I am glad that my cell phone takes good pictures =].
The Squirrel Cage Jail is creepy on its own, but with the lights off and the spooky stories. Whoosh! But its pretty cheap for what you get. You can take a group of your buddies, dress up and come down for a scary tour or bring your girlfriend and we will scare her so much she likes you even more =]. This is the Halloween aisle at Kmart. Its got spooky things, but I’d say Man”goul”sens probably rocks all of it. I didn’t get a picture of that though. I was to excited. You should see the inside of my house =].

The best part is, Kmart is right down the street is down from Iowa Western..So BINGO!
And last but not least, I am attempting on working on a “special” blog for next week. You will just have to tune in and see if it works the way I am planning. =]

This is a fun excersize we tried in our second blog meeting..

The students at Iowa Western seem happy in this picture. They seem energetic to go to class. The point that the picture is taken from is good because it makes the picture appealing to look at. These students seem to enjoy life as a college student here. The building shows great importance to the school and the students. But at the same time as being super important, it looks super fun to. I think the picture might be taken in spring because some of the people are wearing long sleeve shirts and sweaters, while others are wearing short sleeves and tank tops! Its definelty not winter. =]  The picture is giving us a look at student life without really saying it in words. Its showing us by the look on their faces, the way they carry themselves, and the weather outside. I know the weather doesn’t have anything really to do with happiness in college, but it makes the scene happier which makes people looking at the picture feel happier about going to Iowa Western.

If a total stranger, lets just say a troll for fun, would come up and look at Iowa Western, it would see a swarm of people around almost all the time. Lonliness would not become a problem. If you wanted to make a new friend, do like I do and text and walk at the same time. Then all you have to do is keep walking so that you run  into a group of people. Its embarrassing but a good ice breaker. The troll would see that she definelty needs a new hairdo. The students around campus have soft, flat hair compared to the trolls poofy, big hair. This lovely troll would see happiness and peace around. In my high school there were tons of fights. College does not have near as many fights as high school. I believe the reason for this would be maturity. The troll could see the weather. How happy the weather is and how nice of a day it seems to be. Little Trolly, that’s its name now. Little Trolly would feel like jumping out of her usual depressive state and feel like joining the other students in a game of tackle football or sand volleyball. Little Trolly would defineltely not feel discriminated against because it seems that Iowa Western students/staff feel the same about everyone and treats people the same. =]
